Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. ( I John 4:7 )
Welcome to the home page of First Baptist Church. We would love to have you join us for one of our Sunday or Mid-Week services. Our hope is that this site will help acquaint you with some of our programs and help you learn more about our ministries.
1 Th. 5:18. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
“In everything” – The Apostle meant to associate thanksgiving in everything. One translation reads: “Continue to give thanks whatever be your lot.” Chrysostom said, “Even if it be disease or poverty.” Spurgeon said it meant praise to God “in every situation, under every circumstance, before, in and after trials, in bright days of glee, and dark nights of fear.”
Ps. 34:1. I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
There will be a Missions Dinner on Wednesday evening, December 2 from 5:15-6:25 p.m. in the Activities Building. A meal will be provided and there will be no charge. Plan to come hear our very own missionaries speak about their work in Southeast Asia!
Our annual Hanging of the Green service will be next Sunday night, November 29 at 6:20 p.m. If you would like to place a poinsettia in memory or honor of someone, please come by the church office to sign up by this Tuesday, November 24. The cost is $25 per plant.
On Sunday, December 6, the music ministry of Winfield First Baptist Church will present a new musical titled "Beleive: the Truth of Christmas." There will be two times to choose from, a matinee at 4:30 p.m. and an evening presentation at 7:00 p.m. The choir will be accompanied by orchestra made up of members of Winfield FBC and also members of the North Mississippi and Tuscaloosa Symphonies. Free tickets are now available before and after services in the fellowship mall, or in the church office.
On Sunday night, December 13, the music ministry will present a special program of Christmas music by the soloists, groups, families and ensembles from our church family. We look forward to hearing these folks and singing the traditional carols and songs of Christmas together as we celebrate Jesus' birth. If you would like to be a part of this program by singing or playing music, please talk to Brother Tim. Everyone is invited to participate, children and adults alike.
